On Sunday noon, on 21 April, relatives and friends of Lamia were found at the funeral of Vasso Koukounassouli – Silevista mother in the new cemetery of Larissa.
Konstantia Koukounassouli died at the age of 95. She was transferred to a rehabilitation center a few days before her beloved daughter mysteriously disappeared on Sunday March 10th. Dementia had not allowed the elderly to understand the agonizing distress of her relatives, who are still waiting for a response for the the fate of the 59-year-old woman.
Vasso had traveled from Lamia where she lived with her family in Larissa to help her brother transfer her elderly mother to the center. She herself decided to stay in the city in order to visit her in her new environment. According to testimonies she was very depressed that she was not working so she could hire an exclusive nurse to keep her mother in Acronos Street. Where her parents house is in Pera Mahala,and she was last seen before she disappeared.
Recently her relatives were informed by the Authorities of Thessaloniki aboua female corpse that was mildewed in Kalamaria. Although the first evidence seemed it did not belong to Vasso , the negative result was confirmed with the DNA test.
