Among those who filed on the morning of Thursday, September 12, was the coroner who performed the autopsy on Thanasis Lambrou’ body.
He told the court that the victim had received two bullets, one in the chest and one in the head, which was the fatal one. Contrary to earlier testimony that the captain did not died immediately, but during his transfer to Kranidi Health Center, the coroner argued that his death was immediate.
He said he was unable to determine when the victim was shot as no autopsy was conducted at the yard where he was found. In his testimony did not exclude, nor did he confirm that the victim shot himself.
It was also reported that at the Health Center the doctor who examined the victim then did not find the second head trauma. This was later done by the coroner, who asked police to investigate the area where the captain was shot.
Earlier, the Court examined a friend of the accused.
She testified that the defendant, who was initially convicted of life imprisonment for the murder of Thanasis Lambrou, days after the murder, appeared shocked and visited her almost daily.
She said that her daughter and the victim’s and the accused’s daughter had a close friendship. What impressed her is that a week before the tragic incident, the little girl sent a letter and drawings to her daughter writing:
“Always united, never separated, I don’t want to argue again, don’t give up on me …”.
This fact, as the witness testified, gave her the impression that the child was afraid of being alone.
The trial will resume on Friday, September 13.
