The trial for captain’s murder will continue on September 24

Open to all possibilities appeared the coroner on trial for the murder of the captain in Koilada Argolida.

At the Mixed Circuit Court of Appeals in Nafplio on Friday, September 13, the lawyers of the victim’s family examined  the particular witness who carried out the necropsy on the body of Thanassis Lambrou.

He was not able to answer clearly whether the victim committed suicide or was murdered.

The hearing will resume on Tuesday, September 24.

The next meeting is scheduled for Friday 27th of the month. The mother and sister of the captain’s widow’s  who is also accused and initially sentenced to life in prison, are expected to testify in court.

The chronicle  of the case

On December 8, 2014, 42-year-old Thanassis Lambrou was found shot in the house of a friend. The deadly revolver covered with his head and the victim’s right hand belonged to his friend. His own was the bloody knife found next to the captain. The same man found him bloodied in his backyard, but police and a doctor arrived much later. Thanassis Lambrou died during his transport to the Kranidi Medical Center.

Angeliki Nikolouli and her colleagues started the investigation after a call from the victim’s sister. Thanassis Lambros’ relatives from the first moment did not believe that the man had committed suicide as initially claimed by the authorities, but that he was murdered. For this reason, a letter was sent to the Minister responsible for requesting the investigation of experienced police officers.
