In the dock of the Mixed Sworn Court of Athens, will sit Emmanuel Eszajanian Soropidis, 58, who initially confessed that he killed the 32-year-old Dora Zeberi at the Second Cemetery in Athens last October. Then he recalled, naming other people as moral and natural perpetrators.
According to information, he will deny the homicide by intent and will only sue for the Dora’s injury caused by the rape of her bag.
In statements, his lawyer Vasilis Noulezas said: “The court must call those who are named without any deviation. The main interrogation in this case was ended with flawed shortcomings and under rush. ”
For her part, the lawyer of the mother and the siblings of the victim, Gianna Panagopoulou, told Tunnel:
“The family in the courtroom may be confronted perhaps for the first time so close and for so long with the accused for the murder of Dora. This is something very painful and it will become more difficult when the horrifying details of this manslaughter revive. But they will stand on their feet because they have total trust in Greek justice. ”
The lawyer of Dora’s father, Apostolos Lytras, stressed to “Tunnel”:
“From the evidence we have from the case file, it is certain that the killer is the accused. If, however, new information emerges about any involvement of others, the court has the right to forward the case to the Prosecutor for further investigation. ”
The climate in the court is expected to be explosive, and the transfer of Soropides will be under draconian security measures.
