On Friday night June 9 a witness revealed everything he saw before the disappearance of the 38-year-old Cretan …
A suspected man appeared in the policeman’s neighborhood about twenty days before he disappeared on Wednesday 26 April. He asked to know where he lives and which is his car is. According to the testimony, he had identified the 38-year-old’s house, which he was watching. This man was again seen under the house of Dimotakis a week before disappearing.
Tunnel’s External Research Unit was found along with organized volunteers of the “Instant Intervention” at Vyronas operation center.
They were accompanied by a taxi driver who spoke in a live connection with Angeliki Nikolouli.
Fotis Stavrou claimed that on the afternoon on of the day when the police officer disappeared, someone who looked like him had boarded his taxifrom Caesareas Street at Vyronas . He asked him to take him to the southern suburbs and left him in the parking lot of the Palmyra Bistro store, almost opposite the Voula hospital. The passenger on the twenty-minute route told him that he was a police officer .
“He was very nervous, and he was hiting his palms on his knees. It seemed like something serious was troubling him, and he was stressed. He did not hold any objects “said the witness – taxi driver to Tunnel.
After that the broadcast center’s telephone reception received a serious information that led to the same area in Voula.
Viewers found on a sports ground in the spot, about twenty days after the police disappeared, felt a pungent smell and their dog barked incessantly. It came from a nearby, inaccessible area with vegetation.
They did not think then to alert the Authorities. Listening to the taxi driver telling to Tunnel about the passenger , they reported the incident to be investigated.
Immediately a large group of volunteers left the Byron Operation Center to go to Voula.
Later they briefed their colleagues about the difficulty of research that had to be continued in the light of day. Shortly before the show ended, the center was upset by new information coming from volunteers. Residents of the area have reported that lately, a person who looks amazing to the policeman, wanders in the mountain of Voula but also near the sea.
The policeman’s relatives today will literally plow into Voula and Glyfada to locate this person.
His moves before he vanishes …
A neighbor of Antonis Dimitakis who lives just across his apartment in Kesariani, spoke to Tunnel ‘s camera. From her own balcony, the porch of the missing policeman’s house is clearly visible, as well as the flatbed of the apartment building where he used to leave his car.
As he said, on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 26, she remarked that the policeman turned to his house, parked the car in his place, with unusual speed and intensity, and unlocked the front door with quick moves. He went to his house but did not open the rolls on the balcony doors as he used to. Her testimony of the day and time, it is reportedly confirmed by the nearby post office cameras that had recorded his car going through there. She says she is sure about the time, because then her husband called her on the phone to give him something he needed from the balcony. She reported that the missing person wore a dark pink shirt and jeans pants and headed home from Adrianoupoleos street with relatively high speed, which attracted her attention.
“Earlier, around four, I saw a scooter with a young couple around 25, to park in place. The girl descended first and opened the door of the block of flats. When Antonis arrived, they were gone. For this incident, I talked to the police, “she said.
According to the witness the car was not moved again until the disappearance was known. She pointed out that the missing policeman was a quiet, discreet neighbor
I saw him watching the policeman …
Fifteen to twenty days before Dimotakis disappeared, a witness on the same street, came out of his apartment to throw the rubbish. There was a black, small, two-seater car nearby. His driver lowered the window and asked him if he knew a policeman living in that street. He still wanted to know who owned a car that was parked nearby.
He replied that he did not know about the police officer and that the car belonged possibly to some neighbors.
The unknown man said to him that he checked the bells of a nearby block of flats for information, but obviously he did not find what he was looking for.
Later the witness noticed from his balcony how that person stayed in the spot for more than half an hour, as if he were expecting something. Then he turned on the engine and moved away with great speed.
A week later this man appeared again in the neighborhood. The witness saw him pedestrian, looking up to the missing man’s house. He was about 30 years old, tall, not particularly tall, with dark skin. He spoke good Greek and his hair was short and curly. The witness did not see his car’s plate.
After that, the witness traveled abroad and was not immediately informed for Dimotakis dissapearence. When he returned, no one asked him anything. When Tunnel spotted him, he spoke about the incident and then informed the Police.
He came out of the house with his gun and was lost …
The relatives of Giorgos Dimotakis were informed of his death at eleven in the evening of Wednesday 26 April. They were alerted by his colleagues i who were looking for him, as he had not presented himself in his new service.
“They came and saw a light from the balcony. But it was the light of the aquarium. They called him on his cell phone but did not answer them. Then they decided to get in to the house. The door was unlocked, his cell phone and his other personal documents in the apartment, but he was vanished. They checked the last calls and found the number of our sister, ” Giorgos Dimotakis told Tunnel.
His siblings were impressed by the fact that the apartment door was closed but unlocked. Antonis always locked it, even to get down to the basement.
“There was the testimony that he returned at seven to twenty, his outfit was ready on his bed, all seemed to be preparing to show up at nine in his shift,” said the brother of the missing policeman.
There were no signs of disturbance at the house and no note was found. As for his service weapon, his relatives believe he had it with him when he was lost.
According to his brother Antonis loved his job and was very formal. The only black spot was a miniaturization with a colleague in his previous service.
Did they take him out with violence?
Antonis brother described him as a smiling, person who had dreams for the future.
“The only logical conclusion we end up with as a family is that they have done something bad to him. Something happened. We are talking about an armed policeman. Some people used violence to get him out? Something is wrong … “he said to” Tunnel “.
If Dimotakis walked away from his house he would follow specific directions. One would be to the main road of Kesariani in Andrianoupoleos street and the other to Formionos street , towards Pagrati. So far no one has been found to see him on these routes.
“We hope there will be even an anonymous testimony that they have seen him somewhere. Time passes and every day is harder for our family. We think he is still alive and we are expecting a light from him … “he said.
