The screenwriter and director with a statement explains the reasons that led him to the withdrawal of the film ”Another Me “from the movie theaters.
The statement of Sotiris Tsafoulias:
“In recent days I am watching the developments around the case of the murderer of the taxi driver in Kifissia.
Last week viewers who watched the film in a cinema in Athens on 07.02.2017 informed, that a man matching the description of the alleged perpetrator, made me a specific question in the discussion that followed with the audience after the film.
As part of the investigation, they called me to confirm the information received, and to deliver the material of this event to assist in investigations, request to which I responded, wishing the man who asked the question on the night of February 7 appears, to demonstrate if his connected with the case or if it’s just a tragic coincidence.
As the latest developments came to light , I decided to withdraw the film from cinemas, not of course because I recognize some connection with the perpetrator of Kifissia, moreover, as I said the real life and fiction are two parallel paths that never meet, but to misinterpreted my intentions and also my partners in order to assist in investigations.
Thank you from my heart for the love you have shown to “Another me” and I wish you all health and all the best in all areas of your life.
Sotiris Tsafoulias. “
