The car of Marios Papageorgiou was found abandoned by his captors in the junction of Aphrodite and Poseidon street in Paleo Faliro. The alleged mastermind had said the night of the abduction to Anastasios Basantis , that the car was for some reason originally abandoned in another street, in the same block . The “Tunnel” has used the testimony of Basantis and searched the area again.
The “mistake” with the car showing the truth
Research revealed that also other persons, relatives of the main accused, who knew how and why he had abandoned the car in another street. Specific person briefed friend of Marios the first hours of the kidnapping where he would find the car. When he went to the point and did not found it, a relative of the alleged mastermind of the abduction told him that he had made “a mistake”. Ultimately led him to the junction of Aphrodite and Poseidon street where he found the Audi.
The testimony for the broken mobile and athletic clothes
Anastasios Basantis said in an interview with Angeliki Nikolouli that the night of the kidnapping the alleged mastermind gave him the cell phone of Marios to call his mother and ask her for ransom. The phone was broken and it was tied with a hose . The survey showed that the mobile of Marios was new and just before his abduction had spoken fromit to his mother. This indicates that while Basantis met with the alleged mastermind for the first call, Marios had already been attacked. Another element that is revealed through the interview, is that the main accused who always was dressed in costumes, the of the abduction wore athletic clothes. Serious testimony given to “Tunnel” for the night of the abduction says that he was moving in a particular place with athletic clothes.

Sensational is the new testimony reached at the “Tunnel” fifteen months after the abduction.
On the evening of August 9th , between 22.00 and 23.00 pm, very close to where the car of the unfortunate young man was, the witness heard screams from a man calling for help. The screams stopped suddenly after intense noise like a car door closed . The blood route As revealed in “Tunnel” the e-pass of the car of the victim went through the toll of Eleusina towards Corinthos at 22.46 pm of August 9th. As the main accused claims, he went with Marios in the parking of the suburban of Nea Peramos, where he met with two unknown men who were inside a BMW car. Witness reported at the camera of the show suspicious movements of a black BMW in suburban area those days. Another important testimony came on the show, refers to an Audi with riding in more than two men . The night of the kidnapping was moving with speed to the National Road of Athens – Corinthos . At the height of the Kinetta tunnel this car for some reason stopped on the roadside with no lights. The witness saw the man who was sitting next to the driver. He described a man about 40 year old with short hair and beard.
“He drove very fast through the stream”
According to another witness a black BMW car, one or two days after the kidnapping was moving with high speed into a stream that leads to Gerania Mountains, at Kinetta. Something seemed very suspicious because its not a road for cars. There is only a path leading to pens with animals. The driver even tried to hide his face. This is a man aged 40 year old , with short brown hair .
On the night of 9th to August 10th, the kidnappers must have washed the car of Marios to clean the blood of the victim from the trunk. Indeed, the kidnappers had forgotten to tighten a screw. As the special expert – geneticist Dr. George Fitsialos said they didnt have in their mind that the washed blood could be detected.
The first research in the cabin of the car held by Forensics was with the standard methods of detection of genetic material . After the insistence of the show and with the help of Mr. Fitsialos as the family requested the car was retested, using for the first time in Greece modern blood screening techniques, which changed everything. The huge blood mark was uncovered in the car and the DNA test showed that belonged to Marios.
Mr. Fitsialos even talked for two new blood marks also belong to Marios, which were found at the driver’s seat and at the front passenger mat . This indicates that two persons sat in the cabin of the car , have participated in the murderous actions. Notably, in the car was found more genetic material which remaines unidentified until now .
