The first telephone between the journalist with with Michaleakos from prison at Ioannina, had a lot of tension. Michaleakos appeared uncooperative, aggressive and even threatening when he said “I’ll pay what has to do with me … but others will pay also!” Was he surprised from Angelikis Nikolouli phone call and held this position?
The night of the kidnapping …
The next approach of Angeliki Nikolouli to mastermind of the abduction worked, as he changed tactics and attitude and spoke for the first time for that night. After describing his relationship with Marios, as a father and son relationship, unrolled his “script”.
The fateful night was with Marios as he admitted to Angeliki Nikolouli. He states that the missing person before leaving him at his house in Nea Smirni, was accompanied by unidentified men who were driving an old black BMW with tinted windows. Without giving concrete data description and pressured by persistent journalistic questions, he talked about his journey from Nei Smyrni to Nea Peramos siting in the car next to Marios. At the same time the “unknown” men were following Marios with the black BMW.
Michaleakos “developed” his scenario to the journalist, and he denied that the young man disappeared in Mani . He said that he is convinced that Mario is still alive! The 72 year old denied even the attempted kidnapping of Marios mother and he said that she knows better than anyone about the fate of her child!
Angeliki Nikolouli with relentless series of questions received vague answers from Michaleakos, but also highlighting the many contradictions and ambiguities from his strange scenario. Michaleakos showed no trace of remorse. Not even sympathy for Marios and his mother.
