Judicial developments are rapid in the case of the death of the historic PASOK executive and former minister, who, as it turned out, was wrongly initially attributed to an accident.
After a long investigation process where a lot of evidence was gathered as well as new testimonies, the role of the accused was essentially revealed and the witnesses who had spoken about the case in the “Tunnel” were acquitted and testified what they knew to the authorities.
All this time the side of the two fishermen claimed that they had an alibi and that they were in their house all day, when the events unfolded in the sea area of Eretria, on January 24, 2021.
However, material handed over to the authorities by the victim’s family and a new witness who came and stated that not only were they not at home as they claimed but they had gone out to sea, essentially overturned the alibi they relied on and the case took a new turn.
Regarding the developments in this controversial case, the lawyer of the victim’s family, Mr. Manolis Fotakis stated in “Tunnel”:
“The family has not been idle all this time, but they were fighting every day to clear up the case for the circumstances of the murder of Sifis Valyrakis. “Justice now has the floor.”
