The defendant denied any involvement in her husband’s death. She even hinted that it could be suicide, as a result of psychological problems that she said he had.
If it was a murder, as she claimed, it could have been committed by a third party and perhaps for financial reasons, but without being able to indicate a person or events.
The court of the Mixed Jury Court of Appeal of Nafplio asked her to explain the reasons she went to the show “Light in the Tunnel”. She replied that she did so because she was looking to find her husband’s killer, although she had previously left open the possibility of suicide. She falsely claimed that journalist Angeliki Nikolouli, during her breaks, asked her to cry to become more convincing!
She received questions from the headquarters about several of the things she said on the show, such as the fact that she called her husband “the other”. She justified this as a result of the shock she was experiencing, while she did not want to mention further the contradictions she had in relation to the victim’s mobile phone.
She claimed that she loved her husband very much and that she had no reason to hurt him, since she was also the father of her child, that she was religious woman and that everything that she had been heard about her belonged to the gossip sphere of the small society she lived in.
The accused stressed that she does not understand why she is in this position. On Thursday, June 11, her apology will continue with questions that she will receive from the prosecutor, and on July 8, the prosecutor’s position is expected to be placed.
