Kostas Bibikos, 53 years old, visited a friend in the Zuberi area, was seen by some of his acquaintances and then disappeared.
The relatives of Kostas, dear to all, became detectives, literally plowing areas of Attica, to find out the truth.
The missing artist and former employee of the local municipality, used to have his own reggae music band.
He went missing on Saturday, January 21, and the conflicting accounts of his friends who saw him last make the search difficult and the area is covered in fog.
The show’s field research is revealing.
The last witness in the “Tunnel”…
The “Tunnel” located the friend of the missing person who had not spoken to the relatives. He is also the person who saw him for the last time before his tracks were lost.
“The day he went missing, I was the last one to see him. He was coming down from above on foot. He came to my house and I went outside to talk. We talked for a while and he told me that he was going down to Zuberi on foot. I haven’t seen him since that day. After three or four days, his brother came from here and told my sister and my mother that Kostas was lost. Then I was also informed about the disappearance”, the witness emphasized.
He showed the camera of the show the possible places where the missing person could be, but also the direction he saw him following.
“From here there is a camp, which has been closed for years. If he had gone there, he would have been found. I saw him turn down and walk away.”
His friend speaks of a very loving young man, who had no problems with anyone.
“He had other friends besides me. We all knew him here in the neighborhood. He hadn’t told me that something was bothering him and that’s the strange thing, he didn’t have any concern or any serious problem. He was a bad kid, things were done to him, he never bothered anyone,” he concluded.
The friend: I saw them together in the opposite direction…
The journalist of the show was at the house of Konstantinos Bibikos’ good friend. He’s the man he had coffee with just before he disappeared. His testimony is particularly important, as he saw where and with whom he left.
“On Saturday, January 21st, he came to my house around three to four in the afternoon. He sat for half an hour and told me that he has to go to his brother in Athens”, reports Giorgos Karykias and describes what happened as soon as Kostas left his house:
“I saw him going down the opposite way and I thought he’s going to eventually go to his neighbor and friend. After about half an hour I see them going up together. I’ve since lost him. My brother, who saw them, can confirm this to you.”
He does not know where they are headed.
“But they have been there before,” says Giorgos Karykias and adds:
“Maybe they had a date in the woods. Kostas had money on him that Saturday. I have told all this to EMAK who carried out the investigation, but the Police have not bothered me”.
The last witness: I fell asleep… I don’t know what they say…
After the revelations of the missing man’s friend, the “Tunnel” reporter returned to the last witness for clarification.
He refutes the witness who saw him and the missing man climbing the mountain together and gives his own answer for the afternoon of Saturday, January 21.
“We took a walk to the bend outside George’s house and went down. I went inside the house and Kostas sat right here looking for his things and then he went downstairs. I slept afterwards. I don’t know what they’re saying.”
The witness characterizes Kostas as a child who would not disappear and estimates that something bad may have happened to him.
“He should go back because his friends and I and the neighborhood are worried. I want him back. Let’s see him walk.”
Brother: I feel inside that he lives…
Kostas, as his brother, Giorgos, describes, is an artistic vein. He really liked music, he played the guitar and he used to form a band and they played reggae.
The house of the missing person was checked from the first moment, but there are no signs of a struggle or anything to testify that Kostas was taken by surprise.
“He didn’t want to leave, to leave everything behind,” says Giorgos Bibikos and continues:
“He had stopped working at the Municipality and was waiting for his pension. The pension has been issued, money has entered his account, but he has not made any bank transactions.”
The two brothers are very close to each other.
“I feel inside that he is fine. But maybe he’s lost his mind. There’s no other way to explain why he wandered around alone for a week here in the area before he disappeared. He was eating and sleeping somewhere.”
The testimonies that reached both the “Tunnel” and the family are many, but the searches were fruitless.
“I believe the testimonies because they are from people who know him well. Also my brother has a typical figure. You don’t confuse him easily. I believe in myself that it is somewhere. I receive positive energy from everyone for my brother. If anyone knows something, say so. Good or bad”, says Giorgos Bibikos.
The missing person who lived alone in Agia Marina Nea Makri, has a height of 1.68, long black dreadlocked hair and brown eyes. He was probably wearing an orange jacket the day he went missing.
Missing Alert has been activated for his disappearance.
