The mother of the unfortunate George Lygeros, 30, became a detective searching herself on the dangerous streets of Athens. The oath she gave was to find those who so severely cut the thread of her single child’s life.
The unfortunate young man was found dead one and a half month ago in Zefyri. The ambulance was alerted when the abused young man was still alive. But it seems that some were scared to go in that area and instead of seeking police protection, they arrived at the site after two hours, when it was already late…
The mother in her research found evidence that no one had examined. Among them, a cable that the perpetrators appear to have used, while torturing her son.
The shocking details were found in the scientific laboratories, where the tragic mother asked help from…
The cable was burnt, like the clothes he was wearing…
In the wild world…
While serving in the Army, George was trapped in the cruel world of drugs, where he remained for years.
His “friends” even trapped him in unlawful acts for which he was severely punished.
But he managed to escape, change his life and he would soon finish his studies in graphic design.
In his attempt to get the girl he loved out of the drug world, he found himself in Zefiri, where he lost his life.
“I had to go to the police department and there I found out that my child was dead,” said the mother of the unfortunate youngster.
At an emotional state, she appealed to anyone who knows what happened that day to communicate, even anonymously, with the show to find out why they tortured her son to death.
“It is a shame for a child in George’s age to lose his life in this way. No other child should undergo this harm again”, she told Tunnel.
“They forcibly put him in a car…”
A witness told George’s mother that on that afternoon three people put him in a car by force.
“He was reacting, trying to escape, but he failed,” the victim’s mother added.
A short time later, the ambulance was summoned by a resident who heard the screams of George. When he approached, he was still alive and blood was coming out of his mouth. The ambulance arrived two hours later, but did not receive him, as he was already dead. The same night he was taken by the funeral office.
The police had the burned cable and did not examine it…
In the lower back of Giorgos Lygeros and passing through the loops of his pants, police officers found and handed over to his mother a cord burned which, according to her, was not examined.
“His body looked burnt and battered, he was in a very bad state. I believe they either wore it to him to drag him or torture him”, his mother told Tunnel.
“The police were not interested in examining his clothes and shoes or his cellphone. I called George’s phone in front of them and told them it was still working, that someone probably has it. They heard it but it, but they didn’t care”, she said.
The mother investigates the evidence
Dr. George Fitsialos found mainly burnt spots on the back of the victim’s shorts.
“As it concerns the shoes and socks, we have found that there are traces of blood and it remains to be investigated whether they belong to the deceased or someone else. Blood was also found on his clothes”, he told “Tunnel”.
Reference point for the investigator is also the burnt cable found on the unfortunate George.
“They might have tied him up and dragged him”
Elias Boyiokas, chief of the Piraeus Forensic Service, saw the photos of the young man and spoke to Tunnel about the circumstances of his death.
“Some scratches have haemorrhagic filtration. They must have been made while he was still alive. Some are from while he was being dragged, others are undefined.”
The attempt to abduct him the day before…
The day before Lygeros was found dead, he took his dog for a walk, as he used to. His mother two hours later, worried as he had not returned and went out on the road to look for him.
“At one point I sat in front of the door outside our building waiting for him and I suddenly heard ‘Mom, Mom’ and I said ‘why are you hiding here,’ and he told me ‘two people were chasing me and I was scared’.”
In a few months, the unfortunate young man would finish his college and become a graphic designer”. He had a thirst for life and dreams”, his mother added.
