The journalist in cooperation with RTL, revealed unknown details about the mysterious disappearance of a German tourist in Rhodes.
In the studio found the journalist Christopher Mel from the popular TV show “Explosiv”, of the the German channel which also is investigating the case, the wife of the missing father and a family friend.
The computer engineer Sergeij Enns 35 year old, according to this wife, suddenly disappeared from their hotel in Rhodes, where they were on vacation a few hours before their scheduled departure from the island. It was morning August 21, 2016.
What “Tunnel” revealed for the mobile phone of the missing person, surprised the Germans.
The phone was found on the morning of the day he disappeared in Psaropoula beach in front of the hotel he was staying. It was found by a foreigner who was selling refreshments on the beach. As he claimed someone grabbed it from where he was keeping it in case the owner was looking for it. Then this person sold the phone for one hundred euro to a drug addict. When he tried to turn it on ,authorities located it. According to the police officers who are investigating the disappearance of the young father, the persons who were involved with the a illegal trading of the mobile, are not related with the loss of the German.
The report of the RTL broadcasting group for the researchers who traveled from Germany to Rhodes with specially trained dogs, shocked…
The odor from clothes and other personal belongings of the young father, led the dogs from the hotel in the city of Rhodes and from there to Rodini Park, located three kilometers away. At the exact spot where the antenna recorded last emission of the mobile phone.
A journey without return for the young father …
The manager of the hotel where the missing person was staying with his family, spoke to “Tunnel” ‘s camera.
As said Donna Giourga, Sergeij arrived on the island on August 11, 2016 and he would leave after ten days. Nothing presaged what followed. On the day of his scheduled departure, the young father was lost.
The news came as a shock to the hotel staff, as the family of the young German had not been caused any trouble.
The managers of the hotel alerted the agency that had booked the holidays for the four member family and started looking from the roof to the basement of the building, but without results.
“That morning it was my shift. The wife of the missing person came to the reception with their two children. She was very upset and was looking for her husband, who as she told us, had come down to the beach to let the pebbles their children had gathered. The wife decided to leave for Germany with their scheduled flight, without him. She left at the reception her husband passport in case he was returning to the hotel, ” she said.
During investigations for Sergeij Enns , who has both Russian and German citizenship, there was a significant omission. The material of the security cameras at the only entrance and exit of the hotel which could point his direction, was not asked by the authorities.
The owner of rented rooms Manos Gregoras, sensitized by the agony of the family of the missing man and helped at the surveys.
“It was a human reaction. A man was lost… ” he said at ” Tunnel ” ‘s camera. Manos Grigoras helped several times the relatives of the missing man . He printed posters with the photo and the details of Sergei, put them in various parts of the island and gave his own phone number for any information. On the poster indicates the reward of five thousand euros offered by the family to anyone who will give a reliable information about the fate of the 35-year old father.
“There were some witnesses, but unfortunately the information they gave were based on similarity, so the research again led to a dead end,” said to “Tunnel”.
“We did not found the bag with pebbles and shells …”
As reported to “Tunnel” the Greek friend of Sergeij family, his relatives with their own expense brought the special mission from Germany to Greece with the trained dogs. RTL TV channel covered this research with the journalist Christopher Mel. The publication of the story sensitized many German viewers who wanted to help the family financially.
The important element of this group research, which lasted two days, was that the smell of Sergeij Enns led dogs from the hotel to the city center of Rhodes and from there to Rodini Park. In research participated Volunteers Samaritans of Greek Red Cross who searched a large radius of the park. It is a large forest area with lakes, trails, cliffs and ‘blind’ spots.
In surveys in Rodini participated also volunteers of the disaster prevention group of the island but with no results .
Volunteers Samaritans Rescuers and Lifeguards of Rhodes of the Greek Red Cross, spoke to “Tunnel”. As told Costas Tzanos and Frankie Benot, they helped without being informed by the official authorities, as the disappearance of the 35-year old German had become widely known on the island.
“We ‘ve lost valuable time. If we were looking for from the beginning, perhaps we had better results ” they said.
They also indicated to “Tunnel” that whenever their assistance is requested they will be there for the family.
