Late in the afternoon of Sunday, June 18, a volunteer rescuer of the Civil Protection found a body in the marsh of Alykes, in Tigaki, Kos. Attica Security and Homicide police officers who have gone to the island rushed to the scene and identified the victim macroscopically.
Her body was found naked and wrapped in a sheet, while half of her up to the head was covered with a bag, in the water, under a tree and on top of her the perpetrator had also placed branches. It was found decomposed and in a state of saponification due to water.
The scene was cordoned off by men from the Criminal Investigations Department and a medical examiner was called to the scene. According to the initial indications, the death of the unfortunate girl was probably asphyxiation, however more is expected to emerge from the examination of the body at the Medical Forensic Service. The victim was found more than a kilometer away from the house of the arrested for her abduction.
It is now assumed that the arrested person, who did not cooperate with the authorities at all, will also face charges for her murder, possibly also for her rape, depending on the findings of the medical examiner, from the autopsy that will follow.
After all, the arrested person had hacks on his body, neck and hands that refer to fingernails and he tried to justify them unsuccessfully, so it is possible that there are related genetic findings on the victim’s fingernails as well.
However, his Pakistani roommate, who also seems to have fallen into contradictions, is also included in the investigation. After all, there are only two ways that the body of the unfortunate girl could have been found there. Either everything happened at that particular spot, or apparently with someone’s help her body was moved from the house of the two foreigners to the swamp.
There is video footage showing the arrested man and the girl going home after the mini-market at 9pm on Monday, but there is no footage showing them leaving while the roommate gives a different picture. However, if they knew that the house across the street had a camera that “sees” the entrance to their ground floor house, it is possible that the transfer took place from a back window.
Since the girl’s body was found, as the police have no right to interrogate them again since the case has passed to the main Inquest and the perpetrator and any other persons who may appear, can only speak to the Interrogator, they try with others ways to “tie up” the case more.
Thus, the police are looking for video materials on the specific route to Alykes that may provide answers to their questions and the confession then seems to be just a formal procedure.
Unfortunately, the fact that yesterday her mobile phone was found thrown away and without the SIM card had turned the belief into absolute certainty about the commission of a criminal act against the 27-year-old Anastasia, as well as the findings of the police at the 32-year-old’s house, where blonde hairs were found, cigarette butts and a blouse with a blood stain which, together with her mobile phone, have been sent to the Forensic Laboratories of EL.AS.
There were also testimonies that after that night he had tribulations and thorns on his clothes that refer to his stay in the countryside, where he possibly led the unfortunate girl, something that, after these developments, he may now be forced to recount in front of the Investigator during the apology of.
Anastasia’s mother is now in Kos along with a private detective she has hired from her country. At the same time, the Greek authorities are receiving great interest and constant pressure from the Embassy of Poland for this particular case.
