No trace of him has been found since Sunday, July 21, when he disappeared from the house where he lived alone.
“Tunnel” located and spoke with people who allegedly had a strange role in the case of George Stergiou, 45 years old.
His cell phone was turned off there in Edipsos. His taxi was found parked at a different location than usual.
The reporter’s conversation with the husband of the missing man’s ex-wife, who, as many claimed, had a bad relationship, caused impression. He answered all the questions and seemed willing to help with the research.
“I don’t remember being in Edipsos when he was lost…”
A witness, who plays an important role in the case, as he was the husband of the ex-wife of the missing, spoke at the Tunnel.
“I don’t remember exactly when I went to my vacation home in Edipsos, but I was informed of the disappearance. I had no contact with him. It is not true that I had threatened him. What happened the night before he was lost, my wife told me, with whom we are no longer together. I won’t get into the process of what everyone says about me. I’m not hiding that I’ve been sad about the whole story. For anything you may need, I’m willing to help you”, he said.
“In Chalkida where the girl was working, there was a misunderstanding with some men…”
The friend of the missing taxi driver from Edipsos spoke to the Tunnel about unknown incidents that had happened to him before he was lost.
“There’s been a woman in George’s house. We understood it from the videos we watched. It was not the image we knew in his place. George was in contact with a girl working in a cafe in Chalkida. From what he had told me, something happened with two men and they kicked him out of there. I don’t know if it had anything to do with her, but that is what we think”.
“Don’t get me involved in scenarios for George…”
The woman allegedly keeping in touch with the missing taxi driver from Edipsos spoke to a Tunnel reporter.
“I was working in a cafe and the man was coming to Chalkida and he was buying coffee from us. We haven’t been out together, we didn’t hang out. I don’t know who and why is saying such things,” she said.
“I don’t want to find any trouble either, I’m in a relationship. This is nonsense, don’t call me again or involve me. I have nothing to do with him”, the witness concluded angrily.
The family of the taxi driver has filed a lawsuit for murder towards unknown individuals and testimonies have already been received following an order from the Prosecutor of Chalkida.
