Thessaloniki: Agony for a young father who is missing...

Araik Aroutinian, 34 years old, has been missing since November 10, 2022, from Evosmos where he lived and the anxiety of his relatives has turned red.

The father of a boy only 10 years old, he was deeply religious and worked as an iconographer. But recently he was facing health problems and in order not to become a burden to his relatives, as he said, he preferred to live alone.

His personal belongings were found scattered and his car, a white Hyundai, was located by his relatives in the area of Kordelios, on the border with Evosmos.

The disappearance brought to light the drama his family is living through. His estranged wife and mother of his child is seriously ill and his little boy is desperately waiting for his father to show up.

In connection with Evosmos in Thessaloniki, Araik’s relatives sent an emotional appeal to the world to help them and for those who know what happened to speak.

The volunteers of O.F.K.A.TH. with their President Christos Ramos, they searched through the night in places indicated by television viewers for people who looked like the missing person, but the searches were unsuccessful.

The anonymous tip that spread the sadness…

An information that reached the “Tunnel” stated that someone who knew the missing person, received a message that he was not alive. The police were informed about this information.

Friend: I saw him with an unknown woman before he disappeared…

Eleonora, daughter-in-law of the missing father, has become a detective herself along with her husband and his brother, investigating evidence, evaluating testimonies and looking for a sign of his life. Speaking to the “Tunnel” camera, he referred to the investigations they have carried out.

“From the search we made in the house where he lived, we found a bag with clothes, the license and the keys from the car. It was all thrown away, abandoned along with his passport. The last to see him were some of his neighbors. Everything we have found, we have found ourselves. We take whatever evidence comes our way and run straight to investigate. We put up posters everywhere. We do everything we can…”

The show located and spoke to two neighbors and friends of the missing man, who appear to have been the last to see him.

“I last saw him uphill near the house. He was with a girl I didn’t know. After a week I found out that he disappeared. My mind is going bad,” said one characteristically, with the other friend adding:

“We don’t know anything. We searched everywhere with his brother, but nothing.”

When asked by the journalist if they know who sent the message that Arayk is not alive, they answered in the negative.

“His wife is seriously ill and his little boy is looking for him…”

The daughter-in-law and mother of the missing man spoke worriedly to “Tunnel” about his fate.

“We need to finally find out what has become of this child, it’s a shame. is he alive Is he dead? To be found… It’s impossible! His family who are looking for him will never rest. Will they be looking for him for a lifetime? You can’t live like this, with this sadness,” said his bride and added:

“He was a very good boy and a hard worker. They lived in Perea for many years. His parents had a shop there. He worked for several years in a tire shop. He met his wife, got married, had a child and started working in small churches, as he was very religious.”

She also referred to the testimony that arrived at the “Tunnel”.

“We were informed about the information that came to your show, that some lady sent an e-mail to a friend of his, that Arayk is not alive. They told us that investigations are underway and they will notify us of anything new.”

The mother of the missing person bears the entire burden of the family, as her daughter-in-law faces serious health problems. She demands to know the truth about what has happened to her son. Weeping, she told The Tunnel:

“He disappeared and we must definitely find him, no matter what. He was very good and his character and everything. He was five years old when we came to Greece. He went to school here. For many years he built iconostasis, small churches. I worked day and night and didn’t see him often, except on Sundays. He has a boy who is only 10 years old. We are trying to make him forget, in the hope that his father will be found.”

“Did they kill him and bury him?”

Speaking to the “Tunel” reporter, the bride of the missing man seems convinced that something bad has happened to him. Visibly moved, she said:

“He was very attached to his child. He loved it very much and the little one loves him. His mother tries to explain to him that maybe something bad happened to dad. He must be prepared no matter what. He is 10 years old and he should know some things. His mom is very good to him. She has also suffered, she is seriously ill. She is also fighting her own battle. They had broken up and she had taken him from under her. She was not very well psychologically. I think something bad has happened to him. It’s been three months, it’s impossible that he hasn’t received a phone call. He wouldn’t let his family be upset.”

She herself believes the worst case scenario and appeals to anyone who knows something to speak up.

“Either they killed him and buried him somewhere or I don’t know, that’s all I can think of. If anyone knows something, please at least call us anonymously, give us a clue so we can look into it further.”

The tragic mother, referring to her son, bends over and tears stream from her eyes.

“I hope he is found. We don’t know what to tell his child. We’re leaving, we’re not talking. Sometimes when he sees a car, he says “we are waiting for daddy to come”. He is a ten-year-old child, what should he do? I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know anything. All I want is for him to be found however he is. I’m begging people if anyone has seen him, feel sorry for me and talk, let them even pick up a phone and let us know. I don’t want anything else. I can not take it anymore. My child was…”
