He was betrayed by his beloved, attacked by his friend and got lost…

Mystery surrounding the disappearance of a sensitive man, whose traces were lost after the betrayal he felt by the woman he adored and the beating by his friend.

It was Tuesday, December 6, when 46-year-old Thodoris Kalfakakos disappeared from the area of Agios Filippos in Nice. The last person to see him that day was a family friend of his in Korydallos, who, after consultation with the family, took the initiative to contact the “Tunnel” to locate him.

Nothing predicted his disappearance, since Theodoris intended to move permanently to his hometown of Mani, where his sister lives, to open a farm with animals and make a new start in his life. He had even sent all his personal belongings to the village and his sister was waiting for him.

The strange incident that happened a few days earlier complicates the case even more. Thodoris was severely beaten and a short time later he woke up in a bad condition in the hospital, unable to give answers as to how he ended up there.

The “Tunnel” identified the man who hit him after an argument they had for a serious reason in Schisto Korydallos. While he initially left him at the scene helpless, he later returned to take him to the hospital, fearing the worst.

The romantic disappointment he received from the woman he loved, combined with the loss of his job, had negatively affected his psychology in recent days, which is why his relatives are worried about his fate.

Investigations into the night…

The response of the viewers to his discovery was touching. Information about a man who looked like him and also the spots arrived one after the other at the studio of the show. The “Tunnel” external research team, together with the volunteers of the Social Project “Prosfero” association – Acharnai Citizen Volunteer Group, investigated the relevant testimonies in the area of Nikaia and in the Korydallos metro, but to no avail.

He was hit by his friend and then disappeared…

Eleni Kalfakakou, sister of Theodoris, spoke to a “Tunel” journalist about his disappearance, but also about a strange incident that had happened a few days earlier.

“Since December 6, when Theodoris contacted us for the last time, unfortunately we haven’t heard from him again. Nevertheless, I expected him to contact me because his things had arrived and I was waiting for him to come to the village as well”, he said characteristically.

“We asked friends, acquaintances, searched through Facebook, made some moves but unfortunately no one knew anything. They all had time to contact him. We fear the worst. I want to believe that something else, much better, has happened, some scenario that I haven’t thought of. There was no way he could go this long without getting a phone call,” his sister added anxiously.

“I know he was attacked by his friend, I don’t know why they had a fight and what exactly happened. I know that he was found at night at the General State Hospital in Nice and as soon as the hospitals were changing shifts, an ambulance took him and transferred him to the Red Cross, where he was hospitalized for a few days”, he emphasized, while appealing to anyone who has seen even the slightest thing anywhere, to help them .

“It is our only hope because as time goes on, things get difficult. It’s a shame, he’s a young man. What scares me is that something bad has happened and we can never find him…” he concluded.

“I could have planted him…”

The “Tunnel” located and spoke with the friend of the missing man, Thodoris Kalfakakos, the man who admitted that he beat him severely, abandoned him and then returned to take him to the hospital, fearing not to get involved.

When asked by the journalist about when he last saw him and whether he knows anything more, he said the following in an exaggerated style:

“The things you know. What else do you want to know from me? The last time I saw him was when I took him to the State hospital. Since you know these. What are you asking me? We had a fight about something serious.”

When asked how badly his friend was hit, he said:

“Badness has no measure. Bad is a generalization. It would be bad if I put him in a wheelchair… I took him to the State Hospital of Nice and then they transferred him to the Red Cross… I have known Theodoris for many years. If it was someone else, I don’t even know if I would take him to the hospital or if I would “plant” him anywhere. But due to the fact that we are also fellow citizens and have been through some situations together, I gave him a pardon.”

Regarding the colleague of the missing person, possibly of Iraqi origin, with whom they maintained a relationship, he emphasized:

“They worked together. Then she divorced him, but I don’t know why. Theodoris was saddened. You should ask Dimitris, his supervisor at the transport company where he worked. The company is somewhere in Koropi.”

When asked how he justifies the fact that a few days after the incident he disappeared, he replied in the same ironic tone:

“Should I justify it? I will decide why people perish? I don’t know anyone who wanted to harm him. I didn’t want that either, or I wouldn’t have taken him to the hospital. No one knew I hit him. I would leave him there. And if I saw him again, if I went there to pick him up, I would kick him and throw him off the cliff. Without anyone learning anything. I felt remorse afterwards because maybe I overdid it. But it won’t backfire on me because I also took him to the hospital.”

“He felt betrayed by the woman of his life…”

Fani, a childhood and family friend of the missing Thodoris Kalfakakos, is the last person to see him on the morning of Tuesday, December 6, the day he disappeared from the area of Agios Filippos in Nice. She spoke full of anxiety about her beloved friend and what she says is touching.

“We shared almost everything about our lives. He is one of the most sensitive lads I have ever met. An animal-loving child, who from a young age had a lifelong dream to return to the village, open a large farm with animals and deal with it. He passed by my house that day. He was in bad shape after a romantic disappointment he told me he had. I helped him as much as I could, he left and since then I haven’t seen him again,” he said.

The woman, one of his colleagues, with whom they maintained a relationship, seems to have had a great influence on the missing man.

“At first he expressed his love and affection for that girl to me, however when this relationship became known, someone from her own circle beat him very badly and took all the money he had collected from the transport company he worked for. I know he was very much in love with her. He was telling me that she might also be the woman of his life. He had found refuge in her. He had improved psychologically and things were going very well for him,” he added.

She wanted to make a plea to him in case he was somewhere listening.

“If he listens to us, I want him to know that we love him very much and not to be afraid, because we are all by his side. We’re not going to leave it at that, we’re going to look for him until we find out what happened to him.”

“He doesn’t deserve to be kept in the dark…”

Fani practically shows her love for her childhood friend, but also her anguish over his disappearance.

“I had a psychological breakdown, because the woman who thought he could live with her for a whole life, had taken advantage of him financially,” he said characteristically.

“Thodoris would always find a way, wherever he was, to contact me. He would never disappear without something serious happening to him, so me and his whole family have been very worried. We don’t have any news, any brand, anything that can direct us. We looked at various places where anything could have happened. I would like a deep investigation into the unclaimed. He doesn’t deserve to have ended up there. No one deserves it…”, she said visibly moved.

“Amorous disappointment pushed him to the street…”

The missing person’s romantic disappointment with his colleague, whom he loved too much, combined with the fact that he also lost his job, affected him deeply and he found himself living as a homeless person.

“What he expressed to me the last two times I saw him, is that he was forced to find refuge either in a church or in a park in the area of Korydallos and Nikaia. Of course, he also had his stable home that he could always visit and stay, however, it seems that this romantic disappointment combined with some very personal issues of his, which I may not even know myself, led him to want to cut himself off.” , said his childhood friend who is looking for him.

“I don’t want my mind to go to evil, I believe that there was no reason for anyone to harm him. He is a hypersensitive child, who only knows how to give. He’s hurt, he’s not hurt. He fed every stray that was around him, he loved animals more than people. I hope we find him. And I, as his childhood friend and his family, want to know what has happened to him,” she concluded emotionally.

Thodoris is 1.75 tall, has brown hair, and on the day he went missing, he was wearing khaki pants with many pockets, a thick beige woolen jacket, a short-sleeved shirt and sneakers.

He did not have his identification details with him, nor his mobile phone.

His disappearance was reported to the Security Department in Nikaia by his brother.
