The light in the darkness that seemed to swallow him, lit during the show on Friday, November 18th.
As revealed by the Evzones area Police Department, a man who all show that is the missing Dimitris Graikos 59 year old, passed on foot in Skopje seven days after his disappearance.
It was the afternoon Thursday, November 10 and the identity recorded in the system are his.
According to his wife, before disappearing he had mentioned that he had lost his identification card,but did not seem to be particularly concerned.
Following these developments, the authorities focused investigations in the border area, to detect also his rural car with which he was lost.
Dimitris Graikos disappeared the afternoon Thursday, November 3, when he left the abattoirs Halastra with the car, a 4×4 rural XILUX TOYOTA, with registration number NAD 1252. He was holding a folder with a significant amount of money by buying and selling meat.
The security cameras recorded him to move at the opposite direction from that he would follow to return to his house. All these days policemen, volunteers, relatives and friends, literally combed a wide area of Western Macedonia, with the fear that something bad had happened to him.
The businessman car before disappearing
Security camera recorded part of the course which the missing man followed, when he left the abattoir. In front of him appears really close a white rural car with lights on. The missing man was following with his lights of.
The investigation showed that the car which was ahead belonged to the merchant with whom he had the financial transaction. As he told Tunne he saw him following up to a point, until he lost him.
The camera recorded the two vehicles until they reached the intersection. At that point the missing man seemed to turn on his flash light and turned left.
It was afternoon, forty-one minutes after five, Thursday, November 3rd.
Left the slaughterhouse with a lot of money in his hands…
Sophia Emmanouilidou who works at the slaughterhouse said on the show that morning Graikos before disappearing was there, and he had planned to slaughter animals for a trader.
This confirmed Tunnel the trader himself. Dimos Dimou, partner for a long time of the missing man, said that Graikos lately was quite upset because his work was not going well. The vet had order him to kill all his animals. As said: It was not easy for him to decimating for a month his flock and was very worried and upset. That day the missing person had agreed with the merchant to kill on his behalf twenty-eight animals. He requested for cash.
As explained to Tunnel his associate the transactions usually carried out by bank deposits and checks. That day he gave him seventeen thousand euro in cash in an envelope. The missing person had said that he was needing the cash, as has happened on other occasions in the last month while he was facing difficulties with his business.
The abattoir owner Savvas Tsopozidis explained to the reporter of Tunnel that farmers are accustomed, after slaughter their animals, to gather as friends and having a small feast. He sat for a while with them and saw that the missing person did not drink much. He described him as a man who was watching his diet, was not smoking because he was an old athlete .
The responsible of the slaughterhouse canteen Anastasia Nicolaidou said that the businessman left slaughterhouse around 5:30 p.m.. According to her, two minutes later left the trader with whom he had made the trader.
The owner said he greeted them at half past four. From what I heard they left after five he said. The dealer said the broadcast journalist that the transaction between them was arranged just before they leave the slaughterhouse. He did not noticed if someone saw them, but he said all who were there were familiar.
The agony of the relatives
Filled with anxiety about his fate, relatives of the missing businessman spoke to Tunnel s camera . His wife Despina Tsalakidou issued a dramatic appeal to anyone who knows something to speak and help her family. We are in a desperate situation, she said.
His son Archimedes described the first days of agony after the disappearance was known. As he told relatives and friends literally combined the area without finding a single element that could lead to his whereabouts. For his meeting with his uncle the morning before before disappearing spoke his nephew George Graikos. What I remember we were discussing and we were planning our next projects , until he left for the slaughterhouse. As he said, he did not seem that something was bothering him.
His wife told Tunnel that all these years, Dimitris Graikos had given his life to develop his company, with a lot of work, struggle and anxiety. On the day of the disappearance she began to look for him after 4:30 p.m., but his cell phone was switched off.
It was found later by removing confidentiality of mobile, it was turned of in the Chalastra area while the missing person was still at the slaughterhouse.
