“I came face to face with the” maniac ” in the basement elevator, three days before the murder …”
When she heard from the broadcast the testimony referring to a womans complaint that she had come face to face with manic man, in the same basement where Eleftheria Agrafiotou died tragically, she panicked … Shortly before she had experienced the same horror, at the same place, possibly by the same man.
The witness described at Tunnel in detail what she lived on Monday morning 18 April, three days before Elftheria Agrfaiotou was murdered.
It was around half past ten a.m. when she parked her car in the first basement garage of the department store in Maroussi. She headed for the elevator which at that time was coming up from the lower floors.
The door opened and walked unsuspecting into the cabin. On her right was a man with a wild and brutal gaze who literally froze her . Shocked, she noticed that he was bald, with a few hair in the back of the head and had light skin. He was 55-60 year old , his height was about 1.75 with a moderate physique. As she said “he was looking like a predator.”
When the elevator stopped, he got outside first and the witness felt that he trying to control the area around where there was no other person. The woman tried to get out as quickly as possible and realized that he turned abruptly with the desire to push her back into the elevator. The witness instinctively took a basket from the stack that was there, raised threateningly towards him saying: go away because I will hit you . He did not say a word pretended he bent down to get a basket, suddenly entered the elevator and disappeared.
The witness was shocked but did not inform anyone in charge at the department store.
“Her mother died when she realized the loss of Eleftheria …”
Angeliki Nikolouli spoke with the Albanian assistant who along with her husband was for years in the service of Agrafiotou. Lina described to the journalist a human moving scene. Even though relatives and friends tried to conceal from her sick old mother the disappearance, they failed to fool her instinct.
Those days when everybody was upset at Elftherias apartment, the old woman whispered to Lina, where is her daughter. She replied that she had gone shopping. The elderly did not believe her and insisted on asking. Not knowing what to tell her, she began to sing to calm her. She tearfully asked her to stay close to her. After a while she had fever and her health deteriorated. She sensed that something bad had happened to her only daughter. She was taken to the hospital and after that she was transferred to a nursing home, where she died a few days before her favorite child was found wildly murdered .
The Albanian assistant knew that lately Agrafiotou was looking ads to find work.
