Unfortunately, the disappearance of Antonios Harokopos, 72 years-old, who had been missing from his house in Mesochori, Karpathos, since May 23, had a tragic end.

The elderly man, who suffered from dementia, had not shown signs of life since.

The Silver Alert service was informed on June 15 by the social service’s readiness station in the Dodecanese that a body had been found in the sea area of Karpathos.

Everyone’s fears came true when on July 7, the Karpathos Port Authority informed that the body had been identified by DNA method and that it was indeed Antonios Harokopos.
