With the decision of the Athens Joint Jury Court of Appeal, the Bulgarian ex-wife of the unfortunate Vassilis Kokkinis “broke” the life sentence that had been imposed on her at first instance after the court recognized the mitigation of her legal life.
She was sentenced to fifteen years in prison on a charge of premeditated murder. Respectively, another young Bulgarian woman was found guilty of six years in prison for the act of simple complicity in homicide and is now free after having already served half of her sentence.
A Romanian man who was later arrested, was sentenced to fourteen years in prison for complicity also sat on the bench.
The crime took place in January 2015 and his body was discovered a year later, in the freezer of his ex-wife’s apartment in Kallithea.
