The three defendants, two businessmen and a doctor were charged with perjury and fraud. The court found them guilty only of the first accusation. The second category was deemed inadmissible due to the new law 4689/2020 since it was exercised ex officio and not after a lawsuit.
The case which was revealed by “Tunnel” concerned the strange real estate transfers of Kontouli, with a total area of 100 acres, during the period 2004-2007 in the area of Almyros.
According to the decision, the 65-year-old businessman was sentenced to five years in prison, redeemable for 5 euros per day. The doctor from Attica and the other businessman were sentenced to three and a half and four years in prison, respectively also convertible to five euros a day.
The big question about the fate of Kontouli remains since, despite the fact that she is considered dead, her body has not been identified until today. According to information from “Tunnel”, she has now been declared missing with a final court decision.
The trial lasted about five months and a total of 12 prosecution and defense witnesses testified. “Tunnel” was called to bring to justice all the evidence it found from its investigation.
The ballet teacher disappeared at the age of 70 in the summer of 2002 from Amaliapoli, Magnesia, where she lived for the last few years. She was a ballerina and ballet teacher. Years ago, she maintained a dance school in Kifissia, where she lived alone. Before she disappeared, she had been isolated from relatives and friends and had moved to Amaliapolis, Almyros. After the mysterious disappearance of Marianna Kontouli, “Tunnel” revealed power of attorney documents, which seem to have been in the possession of various people, which, as revealed by the special court graphologist Maria – Magda Kambouri, were forged. With these powers, the people who allegedly surrounded her, proceeded to various purchases in her name, despite the fact that she herself was missing.
The prosecutor’s investigation had started in 2008, when the missing woman’s half-sister filed the first report with the Volos Prosecutor’s Office.
