The woman with the vitriol is guilty of attempted murder

With the speeches of the defense lawyers, the hearing procedure was completed and the court conference for the issuance of the decision followed.

Efi Kakaranzoula was unanimously found guilty of attempted murder by the court for the vitriol attack on Ioanna Paliospyrou and not for the grievous bodily harm, as she had requested.

Now, based on the court decision on the guilt of the accused, the maximum sentence that can be imposed on her is 15 years in prison.

Earlier, the prosecutor of the headquarters, Charalambos Mastrantonakis, had asked for the floor to respond to the defendant’s lawyer and to relevant arguments that he put forward to demonstrate the non-murderous intention of his client.

“The accused did not want to destroy Ioanna’s face, she ruined her life. “Throwing the caustic liquid in his face, they accepted that he could inhale it, swallow it, go to the neck and die,” the prosecutor said in his deuterology, adding: “It was revenge that even reached the point of accepting death.”
