All the accused are guilty for the death of Giorgos Xydakis

The family of the 37-year-old driving instructor Giorgos Xydakis, who lost his life in a traffic accident in Heraklion, Crete, when his “friends” and defendants, left him bloodied and to his fate, was vindicated after a long and titanic struggle.

In a unanimous decision today, the court found all four involved guilty of manslaughter by negligence and abandonment.

The unfortunate young man lost his life on August 15, 2018 on Senetaki Avenue, which is connected to the New National Road of Chania – Sitia. The motorcycle he was riding was found next to him in a ditch on the side of the road. At first everyone talked about an accident and the local Traffic Police ignored the important findings at the scene and did not investigate the case in depth.

The fight of George’s family for the truth and the exemplary punishment of the guilty, had a result. In a representation that took place on the spot, the truth was revealed.

The shocking fact that was revealed is that the members of his group, in order to avoid involvement, left him helpless on the side of the tarmac, grabbed his two mobile phones and bought units in an attempt to create false alibi.

Although the public prosecutor proposed to acquit them of the charges but criticized their behavior, the court unanimously proceeded to convict those involved in an admittedly episodic trial.
