Maria D. is found and she is safe and sound.
Following the mobilization of the authorities and the organization “The Smile of the Child”, the minor was found in Albania.
The staff of “The Smile of the Child” will continue to be close to Maria and her family for psychological support and anything else they need.
However, concerns once again arise that require an immediate answer, as this is not the first time a very young child of just 14 years has been able to cross the border without being noticed by the competent authorities.
