In court father and son for the death of the accountant …

The hour of Justice for the Cretan who was poisoned and left helpless in the middle of the road, has arrived.

With the testimony of the parents of the unfortunate accountant Telemachos Kakoulidis, the trial for his death, in November 2019 in Sitia, began on Tuesday, September 7, at the Mixed Jury Court of Heraklion.

A “friend” of the victim and his father are accused. The charges against them are life-threatening, while the son is also accused of drug trafficking that led to the death of Telemachus.

His parents, in a strong emotional charge, told the court that things might have been different if the defendants had taken their child to the hospital on time instead of leaving him helpless to bleed. The “Tunnel” revelations about the case, helped the police investigation that initially spoke about death from drug abuse.

According to the referral panel of the case, Telemachus was alive when he was abandoned in critical condition on a deserted road, in the cold of night.

The trial is set to begin on September 30th.

The chronicle of the case

Telemachos Kakoulidis, 44 years old, was found dead on November 21, 2019 in Sitia where he lived, literally thrown on the side of a road in a residential area. He was found dead at 05:30 in the morning on the day of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, at the junction of Stefanou Xanthoudidou and Doriti Spyridaki streets in Pano Geitonia, Sitia. He was found by a priest who was going to the morning service.

He had been on a date with a “friend” the night before to collect the money he and his father owed him. A few hours later, he was abandoned semi-willingly, poisoned by morphine. The news of his death erupted like lightning in the family of the senior officer of the Fire Brigade Costas Kakoulidis and his wife Athena. A few days ago, they had the memorial service for their youngest son, George, who died of a terminal illness. The tragedy for the family is great. Within five years they lost both their children. His parents, through their pain and despair, managed to find out from the phone calls and codes in his accounting office, the clients who owed him money and he would meet him that fateful night.

Following the revelations of “Tunnel”, the last two people who saw Telemachus alive were arrested. The first, shortly after his arrest, spoke to Angeliki Nikolouli and described in gruesome detail what happened on the fateful night at his home.
