Justice for criminal negligence

09/02/2012 Leave a Comment

Finally the Justice took a significant initiative. Are there any people who are responsible for the disaster caused by the floods? If so, who are they and how could they let the people get drown? Why do we constantly in this country put the blame for everything that happens to its people, on the bad weather and the instants mistakes? Those who acted with criminal negligence should be found and get punished.

My homeland, Ileia, was hit by innumerable destructions the past few years. The most recent havoc was due to the flood. If we are willing to put aside the sentiments and look deep into the facts, we will be able to realize the bitter truth. A decent hospital in Ryrgos was built, in order to cover peoples ‘needs in the wide area, the new build hospital, however, was evacuated in a bad time, at a time of need. And why was that? Simply because it flooded. Well, we cannot just put the blame on the heavy rain. Apparently the place was bad builded. If the streams and the city’s sewerage system had been properly cleaned, how come they all swelled to such an extent and drowned the city? How can they still be allowed to build in places considered prohibited and sensitive?

The Criminal Court prosecutor is looking for an answer to those questions and is forcing an urgent preliminary investigation. Similar investigations should be made to all the cities of the country, which suffer due to the bad weather conditions and whose residents have lost their homes. And in case omissions and bad building work are detected, then the citizens should be informed and they should revolt against those who are responsible, in order to vindicate. Only then we will set in order the anarchy and the uproar that prevail and prevent us from moving on.

For example the prosecutor of Pyrgos, asked to investigate further, whether the Competent Authorities had informed the City about the upcoming bad weather conditions. Because in case they were aware of the snow report and that it was going to rain cats and dogs, they should have taken the proper measures in order to avoid such anarchy. What is simpler than having cleaned the most sensitive parts of the city? This is something that does not require money that they keep telling us they don’t any longer have.

We are all aware of it, because we can see that we can lose ourselves even in a glass of water. Each time is the same old story about having the areas cleaned. Each time the Competent Authorities blame each other. The investigations of Justice must go on- the reason I’m saying this, is because those with local interests should be restrained- in order to force punishment for such criminal negligence.
