The sister of the 17-year-old, Alexandros Tandis, who was found dead in the courtyard of the Papanikolaou Hospital, on Thursday, March 8, filed a lawsuit against the hospital administration and against anyone in charge of a breach of duty.
The advocate of Alexander’s sister is Marina Filippidou, who was the chairman of the Kavala Children’s Center for the period 2012 – 2013.
At that time, Alexander together with his three siblings temporarily stayed on that particular structure until their mother earned their custody judicially.
But quickly the mother was unable to respond to their upbringing, and in 2017 the children went to live with their biological father. From there Alexander left and with the intervention of the older daughter of the family, the two younger siblings were housed in the Arsis structure.
As Filippidou complains, in 2017, the Prosecutor of Thessaloniki Minorities refused to Alexandros to go in any institution, as it was considered to be adult in ten months. As a result, all this time Alexandros did not have any place to stay.
Before going to “Papanikolaou”, Alexandros went in several hospitals such as Hippocratio and AHEPA. Indeed, when he was hospitalized at AHEPA he fell from the 2nd floor and broke his legs.
