Tasos Premos, 61 years old from Agrinio, was lost on Saturday November 10th from the Monastery of St. Xenophontos and not on the 8th of the month as it was originally said.
The Tunnel revealed that someone called from his missing son’s cell phone on the morning of November 9th. His son did not answer because he was in the military unit he was serving.
The disappearance of Premos was declared to the Police department of Mount Athos by a monk who sought him and did not find him the next day.
Police officers spotted their clothes with a stone above them, on a cliff on the beach, a short distance from the Monastery. With his clothes were his ID and a personal note.
His car was found in the Xenia Station car park in Ouranoupolis, where he had parked himself before he disappeared. Its fuel tank was full.
Police officers found in the cell where he was housed the bag with his stuff, but not the wallet and the second pair of shoes he had with him.
In a telephone conversation with Tunnel, his friend Vassilis Vlachos, who happened to meet him on Mount Athos before he was lost, talked about what the missing person said to him:
“Because I come from Agrinio, I was surprised when I saw him. He looked very psychologically pressured and asked if he could become a monk, and he gave me his bank card to give it to his sister. This in my opinion was indicative of how he wanted to stay on Mount Athos for a long time. ”
The friend of the missing retiree of PPC, explained that Premos had secured a special permision of residence by invitation, which allowed him to stay indefinitely.
“I do not think he would hurt himself, he was probably depressed and wanted to be isolated, perhaps the research should be extended to other monasteries ” he said.
What a monk told “Tunnel”
The Tunnel contacted a monk on Mount Athos who spoke for the strange disappearance of Tassos Premos.
He mentioned that the monks helped the police to collect the missing personal items from the cell housed in Xenophontos Monastery. Investigations to locate him him were attended by men from the Coast Guard and divers who were looking for days but without results.
The monk was unable to answer if the missing person had visited Mount Athos again, as only about thirty thousand people are accommodated each year in his monastery.
He also said that according to some testimony the missing person allegedly asked another monk if he could become a monk himself. God help him…” he concluded.
At the studio was found his ex-wife and mother of his son, Efrosini Mavromyti.
“At first we feared that there was something wrong, but after the research your show, we hope he just wanted to be isolated. All we ask for is one information from someone who saw him or even from himself to be certain he is okay. This at least he owes to his child ” she said.
