This was the scene faced by the partner of the Greek lifeguard when he returned to their home in London.
The element that gives dimensions of thriller in the case of the disappearance of 34-year-old Giannis Economopoulos, is the following:
None of the security cameras outside the apartment and in their neighborhood recorded him leaving.
The disappearance, according to his partner, took place on the morning of Tuesday, February 18, in the Newbury Park area of Ilford.
The missing man had moved to London last year for a better life.
In Patras, where he comes from, an alarm has sounded in his family and friendly environment. There are many burning questions. The image they have is that the couple in love often quarreled lately and his girlfriend had asked him to put an end in their relationship.
Mother: I don’t know what happened with his girlfriend before he disappeared…
The tragic mother turned to “Tunnel” to find the answers she is asking for, around the mysterious disappearance of her son.
“We are living a nightmare; we are all in a very bad situation. I have no information from his partner, she didn’t even reply to my messages. A friend of my son’s who spoke to her, told me that a fight had taken place the night before and that she had asked him to divorce her. I don’t know what else could have happened next,” she said at an emotional state.
They searched with dogs in the apartment where he lived with his girlfriend…
The mother of the missing lifeguard talks about her son’s recent relationship with his partner, but also about the British Police investigation.
“I’ve talked to her a few times, but she seemed unhappy, as if she is unwilling to help. I suspect everything. He can’t have disappeared like that. A few days ago, the British police entered the house with dogs, but they do not tell me what they found. They did not rule out the fact that he might not be in life. They have taken his DNA in case he is found, so they can identify him.”
She appeals to anyone who knows anything about her son’s disappearance to speak on the show or to the authorities.
“I found the door open, he wasn’t inside and I panicked…”
The partner of the missing Giannis Economopoulos, spoke to “Tunnel” from the apartment where they lived together in London.
“It is very difficult. Every minute that passes I think about where he can be and what he’s doing, because he has not returned yet. Nothing out of the ordinary happened that day. I prepared breakfast for him, got ready for work, got dressed, he was still in bed, I kissed him and left. When I returned, the door was open. I went straight in, saw that he was not there and started looking for him everywhere. I started to panic and alerted the police,” she said.
She also spoke about the mystery surrounding the security cameras at the exit of the house and the fact they have not recorded him leaving.
“The only way I can think he could get out of the house without the cameras recording, is to jump from our stairs to the neighbor’s house.”
Answering the questions of a journalist of the show, she also referred to what was said about their quarrel last night.
“There was no quarrel between us, but lately he was not himself. He started drinking, so he was different. It’s very difficult to talk about it again. All these memories come to my mind. I would like to appeal to all those who live in London, to keep their eyes open and if they see John or someone looking like him, to immediately inform the police. I just want him to come back,” she said at an emotional state.
The aunt of the missing Marianna Lazana, in a telephone conversation with the show, said that she did not receive a call from him on the day he went missing. His partner claimed that while searching his cell phone, she found a call to her number.
