Τhe judges adopted the prosecutor’s proposal, noting that “the crime for which he is being held, provides for up to life imprisonment and the temporary detention can be extended up to the maximum limit of 18 months”.
Roula Pispirigou would have remained in prison in any case, as the case of the deaths of the other two children, Malena and Irida, is pending against her, for which she has been remanded in custody.
At the beginning of the hearing, the lawyer of the accused Alexis Kougias, characterized the proposal of the prosecutor as “frugal and generous” and repeated that his client should be released from prison.
“If the accused is released, she has a known residence, she will stay with her mother in Alissos. It is a small village with few inhabitants for those who know. There is no risk of leaving the country, nor of committing other crimes, since she has never caused harm to others, nor has she shown any delinquent behavior,” claimed the defendant’s lawyer.
The trial continues.
