The referral to trial of Roula Pispirigou for the crimes of the intentional homicide of her first-born daughter, Georgina, but also for the attempted homicide of her child, was suggested to the competent Judicial Council by the Prosecutor of First Instance, Giorgos Noulis.
Based on the evidence in the case file, the testimony of doctors and nurses, the public prosecutor requests that the “mother” of 9-year-old Georgina be referred and tried before the Mixed Jury Court of Athens. He even proposes the extension of the temporary detention of the accused in Korydallos prisons for another six months.
Now the final word rests with the competent judicial council, which will study the proposal and the case file and decide whether 33-year-old Roula Pispirigou will sit on the bench of the Mixed Jury Court of Athens.
At the same time, the judicial cordon is constantly tightening around her, as the interrogation of the second case has also begun, concerning the deaths of 3.5-year-old Malena and 6-month-old Iris.
The regular investigator Eugenia Tjortzatou has already received the testimony of pathologist Christos Eftychiadis, as well as medical examiners Nikos Karakoukis, Nikos Kalogrias and Christina Tsakonas. Witness statements will continue, while the accused is expected to be called to an apology for these acts as well.
