In the cemetery of the village of Kallithea, Filiates are buried for decades the bones of Greek soldiers who were killed during the civil war. Dimitra Botsiu, who leads this effort, seeks the relatives of the soldiers to take their bones and make a memorial as a minimum tribute.
The names of the soldiers killed in the battle of Tsaraklimani Filiates, as the area was known at the time, are:
• Anastasios Pantazis serving at the 611 Infantry Battalion and was killed on 13 September 1948.
• Constantine Karagiannis who served in the same Order and lost his life the same day.
• In 611 Infantry Battalion also served Constantine Tsolakidis and Dimitrios Vavaris who were killed on 14 September 1948.
• Dimitrios Kotsovelos served at the 625 Infantry Battalion and was killed on 13 September 1948.
