The Prosecutor, after the end of her speech on Tuesday, June 11, at the Joint Athens Court of Appeal, presented an official police document, from a woman who testified that the corpse of Marios was burned in Ano Diakopto, Achaia. The new testimony first addressed to Tunnel and, at our instigation, the witness informed the Authorities.
Earlier at the opening of the meeting the prosecutor in her original proposal accepted that other persons who had not been accused of participating in the case were involved in the case. She acknowledged the involvement of two specific individuals in the case as collaborators of the main accused. For the first she acknowledged the meetings he had with him for transpotting the corpse, and for the second she said he might have been involved in the murder of the young man. The prosecutor has left open the possibility after the decision to prosecute them.
She raised a number of questions about the attitude of one of the two police officers sons of the main accused and said she reserved to say more in her second sentence at the end of the trial.
She sought the conviction of the main accused and secondly of manslaughter by intent, attempted extortion, and gang formation. For another defendant she did not recognize any attenuator, as she did not accept that at that age he was so naive to be convinced of the stories of the “mastermind”, although the civil action did not disregard the help he offered after his detention. For the last two, she demanded their conviction for membership in a gang to commit a felony.

“He managed to become necessary to Marios and his mother, and this woman had two major advantages for the main defendant: Wealth and tremendous weakness for her son… We watched his whole behavior during the hearing, which is explained only if he wanted to help a dear person, that is to say his own self! “.
The Prosecutor then proceeded to a coherent narrative of the events from the day of Marios’ abduction to the arrest of the accused. Referring to the records, such as the blood of the young optician found in his car’s spare wheel, she was convinced that the main accused was the one who murdered the unlucky young man.
“When the victim’s mother returned to Athens that August, the kidnappers phoned her and demanded persistent ransom, and the accused and his wife tried to convince her that Marios was alive. The victim’s mother had become a pawn in their hands. He was the main accused who set up the kidnapping, pretending he was helping and forbidding his mother to go to the police. Until now, Marios has not apperared and will not, because he is dead! Marios before he was murdered reacted violently, furiously, and the accused had probably anticipated a reaction, but not so violentlyone , who was he who would change his plans? He did not hesitate to hit him with the fire extinguisher, his actions were not accidental, his manipulations were carefully designed, why he killed Mario, only he and his accomplices know … But he did not calculate the insistence and strength of the mother, transformed into steel. he could not predicted that the close friend of the family… “she said.
The prosecutor described the “mastermind” as “a criminal mind, a pathological liar, an assertion, with a sense of omnipotence, as it emerged through the trial, without changing his attitude over the years”.
She dismissed all the “scenarios” of the main accused, analyzing phrase by phrase the apologies of all the parties involved, while formulating the following questions:
“How was he sure that his two sons would not go to the police?” Why did one of his sons get involved in locating the car of Marios, why did he tell a friend of the victim to stay away from the case because it “stinks”? There are many questions about him as well as about the spouse of the main accused. This is the subject of my later suggestion to your court, “she emphasized.
The trial continued with the speech of the victim’s lawyer Nikos Roussopoulos. He insisted on the existence and the important role of accomplices, referring directly to the two witnesses who lodged in opposition to the trial at second instance. He stressed that these people were deprived of not only a mother of her child but also of her right to go to his grave.
During the speech of Mr Roussopoulos, the prime defendant did not hesitate to threaten him before the court, causing the seat’s reaction:
