Brothers Gerasimos and Vasilis Tampakakis argued that when the alleged mastermind asked them to participate in the kidnapping , they accepted it because they needed the money. They argued that at the time they were dependent on substances and did not understand much. According to their words the main accused Petros Michaleakos , had told them that a young acquaintance of him had set up his own kidnapping, because he was a user of drugs . The aim was to get the ransom from his mother to give them to drug dealers…

Immediately after apologized their sister the defendant Eugenia Tampakaki , wife of, Aristides Korentios also accused. In her apology she said she did not know about the illegal actions of her two brothers and her husband . Sometimes she accompanied her husband who was watcing Varvara Theodoraki, but to get money from a client , such as he was saying. She claimed she could not imagine that he participated in the planning of the abduction of Marios mother.
Then apologized the accused Panagiotis Chaikalis . Originally he talked about his relationship with his partner Korentios Aristides, who introduced him to Petosr Michaleakos. As he described in court , the alleged mastermind appeared at that garage the have and said that he wanted them for a job. He showed them a house where two women who lived alone . In the apartment they had 300,000 euro in cash. The mother had collected the money for her son who was in in Spain and wanted to buy a house worth 600,000 euros. He proposed to break into the house, take the money and share them. Indeed Michaleakos told them that he had all this information for the movements of the women by a lawyer , who lived on the top floor but had quarreled with them and wanted to take revenge . He would help them to steal the money and taking a share .
Panagiotis Chaikalis said in his apology that Petros Michaleakos made him a very bad impression and finally decided not to take part in the whole operation . While trying to convince his partner to get away from the case, he continued to inform him of the preparation of the kidnapping of Marios mother.

Three hours lasted the apology of the wife’s alleged mastermind Voula Sioutalou , who was examined last . She began by saying that her husband did not ever give any details for his business . She argued that in the face of her husband, Mariοs saw a father figure and that his mother had asked them to watch out because her son was facing problems. She declined to answer to the persistent questions of the Chair and eventually fell into contradictions about how her policeman learned that the mother of Marios informed the police about the abduction.She claimed that she knew absolutely nothing about the kidnapping and that she learned after all those involved in the case were arrested.
The trial will continue on Tuesday, March 18th with the speech of the Prosecutor and lawyers.
