The woman that is accused from the close-knit family of 46-year-old unfortunate Niko Menzos. She is accused of intentionally killing him in a calm state of mind.
The trial at the Mesolongi Joint Circuit Court continued with the completion of the depositions of all five of the victim’s brothers.
The atmosphere in the courtroom was heavy as witnesses turned back on the day they learned of their brother’s tragic death. There was also tension after the victim’s sister who last filed a report was emotionally charged when she had to detail the incident, following pressing questions from defense counsel.
Mentzo’s sister, who first testified, described the accused as a authoritarian and cruel woman who wanted to have complete control over his finances and the victim’s activities in general.
The trial will be resumed on Monday, December 16th, with the testimony of the remaining accused and defense witnesses.
