That day the retired fireman left on foot to go to the village of Kathenoi. Since then, he has not shown signs of life and searches were being conducted to locate him.
On the morning of Saturday, August 12, a farmer walking in the forest area, came face to face with a macabre sight, after seeing scattered human limbs and in a state of shock called the authorities.
Soon a police team arrived in the area and found the remains of the human body, which were mainly bones, as it seems the body had been eaten by animals.
From a hat found by the police at the scene and the shoes identified by a neighbor, they speculate that this may be the missing retired firefighter, but they will have to wait for a DNA test to officially identify him.
