Sixteen years after the mysterious disappearance of Marianna Kontouli from Amaliapolis Magnisia, which unveiled the “Tunnel”, the trial at the Three-Member Court of Appeal at Larissa began on Wednesday, March 21st, 2018.
There are six people who face accusations of forgery, fraud and at the expense of the Greek State and embezzlement.
The first who testified was the sister and son in law of Kontoulis who have been struggling to reveal the truth and find her corpse all these years.
The testimony of a notary of Volos was crucial. She stated that Kontouli just before she goes missing, had addressed her. The missing woman allegedly told her that one of her defendants had “eaten the property” and was asking her what was left of her.
Tunnel has also been summoned to file the evidence of his investigation about the unfortunate woman.
The trial was interrupted until Tuesday, April 24th.
