In the most tragic way, the Coast guard inquiries were completed to locate the 78-year-old retired teacher who was lost on Thursday, August 16th, from the beach at Mavrovouni Gytheion.
As everything appears, she had gone for a night swim at the beach she used to go, according to her son, who alerted the authorities, while her clothes and personal belongings were found on the beach.
Around 10 am on Monday, August 20, swimmers spotted her dead body at Marathia Beach, in the Laconian Gulf, just across the area that lost her trails to the sea.
That night there was seaworthiness, there were strong currents and after her drowning as it all seems, her body was drifting open until it reached the opposite side of the bay.
The search for the sad incident is carried out by the Coast guard of Gytheion, while for her search, a great mobilization has been made by the authorities, by divers and volunteers.
