The prosecutor was not convinced by what the accused claimed in his apology, that a lawyer and another person named Harris asked him for a fee to take the unfortunate taxofficer for a few months out of service.

In her speech, said that Dora Zepperi had a remarkable personality, both for society and for her family, who, instead of enjoying her youth, had family loads on her back.

She also said that there are many contradictions, leaving open the possibility that someone else could write the memos with which the accused changed his original confession.

The prosecutor pointed out that the stabs on Dora were not accidental, they were many and fatal.

“The family will never get a response. The accused was not ready to be released from his previous conviction. That was the great crime of the state. Three and four months later he did a crime. He was watching her for a month. He destroyed his life, the life of a girl and her family, “she said.

The apology of Soropides

“Mr President, I am guilty, I feel guilty of injuring the girl. I tried to hurt her… “

With these words he began the apology before the Athens Joint Mixed Court of Justice, the accused for the assassination of the unfortunate taxofficer Manolis Soropides.

He said that a well-known lawyer approached him and asked him to put Dora out of service for a few months because he had a problem with his clients. His fee would be thirty thousand euros and a trusted associate would guide him. He said he agreed and claimed to have watched Dora Zeperi for a month and a half.

“They told me to go to the cemetery to watch her. He wanted to take her bag and injure her. There would a man in the pedestrian bridge to hand over the  bag and they would tell me where to go to give her cell phone. “

He said that during this time those people were giving him substances to cope with his deprivation syndrome.

“That day, I went to the cemetery around three. I went from the back side.  A lady saw me who cleaned a tomb. Then I left and went to the ossuary. There were two ladies. Sometime they left. I looked at the girl I did not see her, but I saw the handles of her handbag. I grabbed the bag and when I got up to leave the girl pulled me from behind, I lost my balance and fell over her. I told her I want the bag, but she did not let her. I tried to put out the knife, the girl caught my hand. I wounded her face. The girl fell over me, turned, looked at me and got up and left. I heard her shouting help. I took the bag, jumped the fence, looked at the footbridge to find the ones who had sent me there and there was no one.

I opened the bag, I got the cell phone and five euros.  I threw the knife, the blouse in a bucket. I took the bus and went down to Athens and I went to Pakistani that they had indicated to me. Then I left, I bought heroin and went home. I then heard that she was found dead. They wanted to wipe out the girl.

I wanted to hurt her, but I accidentally injured her. They wanted to kill her. I wanted to protect my daughter because they threatened to sacrifice her at a ceremony, “the accused said.

He claimed that after a few days he went to meet the lawyer he avoided him and told him that he did not want to have any relationship with him. The same tactic was followed by his accomplice.

The President in a related question he replied that he himself wrote the supplementary memorandum he filed after his initial confession.
In a next question from the President, if someone suggested that he write the memo, he replied that the time that was in Domokos prison had not been in contact with anyone.

Today, the decision is expected.
